Packaging in the fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain: innovation and sustainability

Packaging is fundamental to fresh commodities, such as fruits and vegetables, due to their quick perishability. It is imperative that the materials used in their supply chain answer to their variety of needs. The aim of this review is to focus on the typologies of packaging that are effectively used at different levels of the fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain, including the materials considered.
